Cobie Smulders' Favorite Things

 

Cobie Smulders won us over as How I Met Your Mother's Robin Scherbatsky. The actress opens up to Oprah.com's Screening Room about her favorite meal, movie and more.

TV show [other than her own]: I really like Flight of the Concords. I was really into True Blood for a while, and Mad Men. And I really, really like Friday Night Lights. I'm definitely way into that. I wasn't at first because I thought it was about football and I don't know anything about football because we don't have it in Canada. Well, we do, but I grew up with rugby. But it's so well done, and so well shot.

 

Movie: I generally love old movies, but I've seen all the Oscar® stuff. I really liked Milk. Sean Penn was so good it in, so I was glad he won. But my favorite movie of all time is The Princess Bride.

 

Travel destination: Anywhere I can scuba dive. I wanted to be a marine biologist my whole life until I graduated high school. And even now, I'm still like, "Maybe I'll just quit the biz and go to Santa Cruz and study marine biology and have my own research center in the Bahamas." Yeah, I'm sure it would be just that smooth. But really, my dream would be to have a boat and travel to different islands and scuba dive.

 

Meal: Right now, I could list 30 things. I love macaroni and cheese. I could eat it every meal of the day. It used to be sushi, but these days I cannot stop eating mac and cheese. I haven't had it from a box in a long time, but I'll make it homemade style with four types of cheeses, lots of milk, maybe a little ketchup. I don't know, I'm crazy like that.

 

Gift: My engagement ring-I just got engaged. That was a pretty big gift. Also, my guy is just awesome, for Christmas he made our baby's basinet. That was a big one too, because it was so considerate. But the ring was just for me, so that's was a pretty great gift.
